Its a emotional day in Walford as Shakil is laid to rest but will Carmel make it?

An emotional week kicks off when Kush breaks the news to Carmel that they have a meeting with Jay to plan Shakil’s funeral but with her mind set on organising the first night of the youth club, she fails to show up leaving Kush concerned.

While, Keegan struggles to cope in the wake of the attack and remains on-edge. Upon learning what’s going on with Keegan, Carmel rushes over to see him but he throws her support back in her face and tells her that she’s just using the youth club as a distraction and that it won’t bring Shakil back.

Denise and Kush are concerned as Carmel refuses to get involved in making plans for Shakil’s funeral and instead busies herself with organising another Youth Club event.

Carmel seeks Hayley’s help with an idea – but Hayley makes an excuse at the last minute leaving Carmel to proceed alone. Before Hayley leaves, she steals some money from Carmel but feeling guilty, tries to give it back to her; pretending she found it on the floor.

Meanwhile, Keegan confronts Carmel for not getting involved with Shakil’s funeral and Carmel finally crumbles and shares some harsh words with Keegan; At the funeral parlour, Jay is stunned when Carmel tells him to cancel all the tributes and tell everyone they aren’t welcome at the funeral; she just wants it to be her and Shakil.

Kush opens up to Denise and reveals he feels Carmel has let Shakil down by not helping with the funeral.

On the day of Shakil’s funeral Darius, Umar and Kush prepare for the emotional day ahead. Despite Carmel’s orders to Jay, Kush insists the funeral will go ahead as planned. Carmel ignores Kush’s pleas to attend her son’s funeral and Denise and Kush soon discover she has gone missing. As everyone heads to the church, Denise desperately tries to find Carmel in time but will she convince her to attend the funeral?
