This week in Shieldinch: a desperate Alex vows to clear his name, the casino night lures a cash-strapped Dougie, and AJ and Ellie’s night of romance goes awry.

A wounded Alex breaks into the Health Centre to steal medication but is thwarted by Kim and Suzie. On the run and running out of time, Alex turns to Nicole for support. As the search for Alex intensifies locally, Nicole manipulates Maggie into attending to Alex, whose injuries are cause for concern.
As Lou and the police frantically search for Alex, he has an emotional showdown with Amber, desperate for his sister to hear his pleas of innocence.
Elsewhere, Dougie’s desperate to make some quick cash as his gambling addiction takes hold. His interest is spiked by news of a casino night at the Candle Rooms and he persuades Scarlett to make a night of it.
However, while everyone else gets into the fun spirit of the night, Dougie takes the poker game very seriously and finds a gambling rival in Joe. As Angus, Bob and Gabriel bow out of the game, Dougie goes head to head against Joe to make sure winner takes all.
With fostering on the horizon, Ellie and AJ decide to enjoy what little alone time they have together. However, AJ’s romantic plans for Ellie are derailed when they end up with Katie, Madonna, Callum and Charlotte. Worse still, when a sickness bug takes hold it proves memorable for all the wrong reasons.
