John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) is returning to Hollyoaks and his first scenes back in the show are set to air later this year.
John Paul left the show in 2017 after he split up with James Nightingale and it was hinted he was reunited with his first love Craig Dean (Guy Burnet).
Hollyoaks Executive producer Bryan Kirkwood said: “James Sutton’s creation, John Paul McQueen, is one of the most beloved characters in Hollyoaks’ history. We are delighted to have him back, to bring some stability to the chaotic McQueen household and to be a figurehead at Hollyoaks High.
“John Paul has featured in two of Hollyoaks’ biggest ever stories. With so many loose ends in the village and a few ex-lovers, we are looking forward to another ground-breaking chapter.”
As teased in the Hollyoaks summer trailer rejoining the village is Finn O’Connor, who will be released from prison after being arrested in 2016 for raping John Paul. It’s set to be a tense and emotional reunion…
Also with James having lost Harry to serial-killer Breda Mcqueen could a recoupling be on the cards? how about Ste who has fallen in with a far-right group?
One person sure to welcome him back should be Sally St. Claire who was greeted with a video message from on her wedding day to JP’s mum Myra Mcqueen.
Hollyoaks continues tonight at 7pm on E4
