Lev reflects on a traumatic childhood after connecting with a patient of similar heritage, and Jan struggles to prioritise her marriage over her work.
When Lev is called to help a patient, Evgeny, who has been stabbed, he is delighted to find out that he is Russian, and the pair bond over their similar heritage. However, he soon finds himself reflecting on disturbing and traumatic memories from his own past and his childhood in Russia.
Meanwhile, Jan forgets to buy an anniversary gift for her wife, Ffion, and promise to make it up to her, but an emergency means that Jan has to put her work her relationship once more. Elsewhere, Charlie decides to take a step back.
