Soaps have given us all manner of socially distanced drama over the past few months weddings, stunts and even a murder but Emmerdale delivers a socially distanced virtual date next week.
Popular Emmerdale couple Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) and Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) have spent the last few months apart with Vanessa away to recuparte from Chemo and looking after her mother.
Next week Charity’s worries over her relationship look set to go into overdrive when she learns that Vanessa has been contacting Tracy and Rhona but ending her calls early.
Little does she know it’s all a ruse to surprise her and boy is her face a picture when she comes home to find that Vanessa hasn’t forgotten her or even their anniversary.
Complete with the eyemask and the cape, on a manakin, that Vanessa was wearing the first time they got together Vanity enjoy a virtual date reminiscing on old times.

Vanessa’s on-screen return isn’t the only return this week when a struggling Belle starts hearing her mother (Lisa Dingle’s) voice. Later, the voice starts trying to convince Belle that Andrea is responsible for everything that’s happening and that she should take action.
