Hollyoaks release big new summer trailer which puts fan favourites in peril

Hollyoaks fans can expect scandals, stolen kisses, shock confessions, and a first-glimpse at Zara Morgan’s return.

Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe)’s seventh marriage may soon be in tatters as her one night stand with Romeo Nightingale (Owen Warner) is outed. She initially goes to great lengths to hide the secret after Romeo’s mum, Donna Marie (Lucy-Jo Hudson) blackmails her with evidence. From giving her cash to spiking her drink, Mercedes goes head to head with Donna Marie on a mission to hide the truth, but in a shocking turn of events, she decides to come clean to Sylver (David Tag), but how will he react…

It’s certainly the Summer of Summer in the Hollyoaks village, as deceitful Summer Ranger (Rhiannon Clements), continues on her revenge path by keeping innocent Liberty (Jessamy Stoddart) hostage, framing Brody (Adam Woodward) for murder, kidnapping her lover, Sienna (Anna Passey), and planning to flee the village. She is even hiding a deadly weapon, but will this story of underhand justice end with a gunshot…

The trailer includes an exclusive first-look at returning character Zara Morgan (Kelly Condron), who first stepped into the Hollyoaks village 22 years ago. She turns up on her brother, Luke Morgan (Gary Lucy)’s doorstep following the passing of their mum, Sue, shocked to only hear about the funeral via social media..

As Martine (Kelle Bryan) continues her cancer treatment, she is drawn closer to her ex-lover, Felix (Richard Blackwood), who wants to help her on her journey. As the pair try on wigs, they share an intimate moment, and the trailer teases that Felix’s girlfriend, Grace (Tamara Wall) is heartbroken. Will she find out what’s happened between them…

Coming up this summer, Brooke (Tylan Grant – They/He) comes to a realisation in the run up to their prom night that they are in fact non-binary, and after opening up to their friends, they receive love and support…

Married couple Tom Cunningham (Ellis Hollins) and Yazz Maalik (Haiesha Mistry) invite fellow village residents of all ages to play a summer long game in which they must get their ‘target’ to read out ‘bang bang your dead’. They recruit the help of Romeo Nightingale (Owen Warner), who uses social media as a tool to keep track of the game score.

A spiralling John Paul (James Sutton) struggles to deal with the loss of his abusive fiancé, George after he was killed by Sally St Claire (Annie Wallace), and he turns on his friends as he suddenly attacks Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson).

Village baddie Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas), under the control of dodgy businessman Fergus (Robert Beck), continues to spiral as he plans to seek revenge on former friend Felix Westwood by scaring the Deveraux family, and he does so by breaking into Price Slice, and hurting someone in the process…

Shaq (Omar Malik) has certainly made an impression on the village since arriving earlier this year, and the trailer teases that he has caught the eye of Sami (Rishi Nair)’s girlfriend, Verity (Eva O’Hara). However, his biggest mystery has been who his real parents are, and there is another twist in the tale, as it is now revealed that he is Misbah (Harvey Virdi)’s biological son, but will Misbah tell him the truth.

Maxine (Nikki Sanderson) wakes up in bed with her mum’s boyfriend, Fergus, but did they sleep together?

Nadine Mulkerrin and Rory Douglas Speed’s character’s reunite as Cleo and Joel kiss.
