Coronation Street has a famous history of wronged women taking revenge on their men in big stunts from Tracy Barlow whacking abuser Charlie Stubbs over the head to mad Maya kidnapping Sunita, tying her to a cooker, and then trying to blow up the corner shop back in 2004.

Well, next week (Monday March 21) will see a showdown between Adam Barlow (Samuel Robertson) and Lydia Chambers (Rebecca Ryan) which leaves the Weatherfield solicitor fighting for his life.

Lydia has spent weeks tormenting Adam and so far destroyed both his career and his marriage to Sarah (Tina O’Brien). Not everyone is entirely hooked on the lies being told with Carla (Alison King) telling Sarah that she should think hard before cutting Adam out of her life as she’s not sure Lydia can be trusted.

In these newly released images as the truth about their past comes tumbling out, a heated row ensues but when an emotional Lydia lashes out at a seemingly unrepentant Adam, a violent shove sees him falling over a first floor railing crashing onto the floor below.

With Adam lying bloody and unconscious on the floor below, has Lydia taken the ultimate revenge?

And will Lydia finally be unmasked to Adam’s estranged wife Sarah and the police.
