Emmerdale spoilers: Wednesday 16 March 2022

Tonight on Emmerdale (Wednesday March 16) it seems a new marriage might not mean honesty when Dawn first hides Alex’s blackmail from Harriet and husband Billy.

As Dawn struggles to share in their excitement over the adoption it’s clear she is under immense pressure. Later, Dawn’s deceit leads her to home farm where trying to break into the safe she is caught red handed by Kim who demands to know what is going on.

With the walls closing in around her, Dawn makes one final call before accompanying Alex. Trapped, Dawn realises that her task may be more dangerous than she originally thought when she meets Alex’s dealer. Just as the meeting concludes, the trio are interrupted by a police car and Billy can only watch in horror as Dawn is taken away by the police, where does this leave Lucas and his chance of adoption now?

Manpreet puts on a brave face as she nervously awaits Meena’s plea hearing but she’s apprehensive to realise that Charles and Liam cannot discuss Meena’s confession on the stand.

A vulnerable Amelia reluctantly tells her concerned family about her encounter with Noah but is left embarrassed when Kerry intervenes.
