Tonight in Shieldinch… Caitlin’s community radio debut sends shockwaves through the airwaves; Alex begins to crack as Toomey piles on the pressure; and Scarlett’s obsession with generating votes comes at Bernie’s expense.
Opportunity comes calling when Caitlin is asked to be an agony aunt on Sam’s Community Radio show. Caitlin tells Barry she’s confident she’s got the credentials to offer advice to the listeners, however, he urges caution – it’s live radio, after all.
On her way to the radio station, Caitlin bumps into Ash, who pours scorn on her agony-aunt role.
At the station, Caitlin’s frustration bubbles over, and her pragmatic approach quickly gives way to vindictive agony-aunt advice, much to Sam’s horror. As the future of the show hangs in the balance, Sam and Caitlin grow close.
Elsewhere, Alex feels pressurised by Toomey for answers about his brother’s murder. Knowing he was responsible, Alex turns to Lenny for advice – who suggests silencing the problem forever.
Alex meets with Toomey, falsely framing someone else for the murder. However, he unwittingly gives away too much detail raising Toomey’s suspicions and setting the wheels in motion for revenge.
Scarlett canvases for Star Of Shieldinch votes, enlisting the help of Bernie to run the corner shop. With a special day-trip with Mulvaney planned, Bernie tells her sister she can only help out for a little while. So when Scarlett loses all sense of time, Bernie is furious. She reminds Scarlett that selflessness will generate community support and votes, and that starts at home.
