Emmerdale spoilers, pictures and cast: Tuesday 17 January 2023

Gabby’s trying to be confident as she greets Nicola, councillor Colin and guests from local schools. Nervous Gabby glances over at Kim who doesn’t look impressed by the shaky start to her speech, but resilient Gabby stands her ground when Nicola questions the safety element of the activities on offer. Nicola announces the good news to Gabby, she’s sold the idea! Kim offers Gabby the position of deputy. Gabby urges Nicky to stick around and celebrate with her as she grabs a bottle of fizz. A drunk Gabby takes the plunge and leans in to kiss Nicky. Gabby’s mortified as Nicky jumps to his feet announcing that he doesn’t like her like that. Dawn witnesses this and Gabby is left feeling humiliated.

Chloe’s caught off guard when Sarah asks Chloe if Mack is the father of her unborn child. Chloe feigns shock at Sarah’s accusations and manipulates Sarah into backing down, claiming she’d never do anything to hurt her friend’s family and Sarah is left feeling guilty. Later, stern Chloe urges Mackenzie to stop spiralling because the way he’s acting is getting people suspicious including Sarah. Chloe reassures Mackenzie that she threw her off the scent.

Amy reveals that Kyle’s solicitor is apprehensive about the judge. Cain confirms Judge Forsyth is going to be a problem – as soon as he finds out Kyle’s his son it’s game over. Cain’s words have shaken her but fragile Amy agrees to put on a brave face for Kyle.

Bernice is furious when Mandy tells her she is going to have to make her redundant from the salon.
