Aww, young love. The new Jack and Vera, or Fiz and Tyrone? all we know is Hope Dobbs (Isabella Flanagan) and Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) are in for some fun in this new storyline as Coronation Street producer Iain MacLeod has said he hopes the pair will become the next PJ and Duncan.

Speaking on ITV’s Loose Women Iain said, ‘We’ve done some dark and twisted things, but for at least the next 12 months we’re going to do some normal, pre-teen things. We’re going to be building a friendship with her and Sam, that will sort of verge on a really innocent, pre-teen romance’.

Next week’s visit to Coronation Street sees Fiz finding out that Hope has skipped school. Hope flinches when Fiz steps towards her and begs her not to hit her. Stunned Fiz and Tyrone accuse Beth of slapping Hope then lying about it.

Later, A contrite Beth hands Fiz a letter for Hope. Fiz reads it and promises to pass it on.

Later in the week Sam and Hope agree that they’re now boyfriend and girlfriend. 

Iain promised this story would have ‘a Hope twist’ on it and that we’ll see a down to earth and more grounded side to the youngster.
