Fair City spoilers – Friday 28 July 2023: McCabe makes a disturbing claim about Mairead that could have massive repercussions

In tonight’s episode of Fair City, emotions run high as some of Carrigstown’s residents face challenging decisions and surprising revelations.

Sean finds himself deeply concerned when he stumbles upon brochures for an old folk’s home and fears that his friend Cass might be considering moving away. Worried about Cass’s future, Sean confides in Alex, and together, they decide to confront him about it. However, they are in for a shock when they discover that Cass has other plans – he wants to tour retirement homes with a one-man show about his life. The unexpected revelation leaves Sean and Alex both relieved and intrigued by Cass’s creative endeavor.

Meanwhile, Babs notices that Jess is feeling overwhelmed by Greg’s enthusiasm for the baby. Seeing her daughter in distress, Babs takes it upon herself to give Greg some space and get him out of Jess’s hair. Trying to be supportive, Ruby advises Jess that she doesn’t have to stay with Greg if she’s unsure about the future of their relationship. However, things take an unexpected turn when Jess drops a bombshell on Greg – she’s uncertain if she wants to have the baby. The revelation leaves Greg shocked and deeply conflicted about what lies ahead for their family.

On another front, Damien finds himself in a difficult situation with Mairead. He orders Maxine to stay away from Mairead, sparking tension in their relationship. However, Damien’s concern escalates when he discovers multiple bottles of bleach under the sink, raising suspicions about what Mairead might be up to. Unable to avoid the issue any longer, Mairead confronts McCabe, but her efforts to resolve the situation take a twisted turn when McCabe plays her cards strategically.

In a conniving move, McCabe tells Fidelma that Maxine confided in her about an unwanted kiss from Mairead – an incident which she characterizes as sexual assault. The shocking accusation sets off a chain of events that could have far-reaching consequences for everyone involved.
