Nate finds himself drowning in financial woes, unable to share Tracy’s optimism about their situation. Meanwhile, Cain tries to comfort a stressed-out Dan when Corey makes an unexpected appearance at the garage with a job offer. Intrigued by Corey’s proposition, Cain agrees to a business deal with him.
At the pub, Nate is pleasantly surprised to recognize Corey as an old schoolmate. However, his joy is short-lived when Charity brings up Eve’s hand-me-downs, leaving him feeling inadequate compared to Corey’s success.
Desperate to improve his circumstances, Nate refuses extra work, secretly planning something on the side. Later, he nervously asks Corey for a job, but his hopes are crushed when Corey declines to help him.
In the aftermath of a reconciliation with Mackenzie, Nate and Mackenzie raid Moira’s kitchen, relieved that there are no hard feelings. Mackenzie is then given the chance to assist Cain with his new fleet of cars, earning him a place at the garage.
Meanwhile, tensions rise as Caleb’s true identity as a silent investor is exposed during a confrontation with Nate at the garage. Nate threatens to expose Caleb’s shady business dealings to Cain unless he secures him a job.
