Ahead of a big week for many residents of Coronation Street, in which Stephen must finally pay for his crimes, we caught up with the former Rovers landlady, and girlfriend of Stephen, who currently has no clue about the true nature of the man she is with.

‘The Rovers is very much where Johnny is, so when she was packing up to leave, it felt very much like she was leaving him,’ Sally Ann Matthews told Eastieoaks.com when we spoke to her. ‘After Johnny died she’s been with Leo and he died, Johnny’s the one true love of her life and it’s really sad she keeps trying to move on and picking wronguns’.

‘It’s really weird that The Rovers is all boarded up and closed, and there are no Rovers scenes. Since then, I’ve been spending a lot of time in Rita’s flat or Roy Rolls. It’s really weird. Also, in jeans and trainers, which isn’t like Jenny, who is normally in a dress or a jacket. Not now.’

Next week: Jenny is excitedly planning her new future in Thailand with Stephen, unaware that he is responsible for murdering her lover. How will she react when Carla warns her that the police are after him?

Coronation Street continues tomorrow at 8pm on ITV1
