The short film, written and produced by Michael Stevenson – best known for his role in Casualty as Iain Dean – centers around Sean (played by Corrie’s Sam Blakeman actor, Jude Riordan) and his mum, Suzannah (played by Emma Davies).

Living with a hidden secret, Sean and his mum have a close bond as we witness in touching and emotional scenes, but her illness takes a toll on Sean leading to a quite shocking scene.

As a soap and drama lover, this was certainly different – Jude here is a world away from his role as the chess-loving Sam on Coronation Street.

This is only 15 minutes long, but I suggest sitting down with a cup of tea and a biscuit to watch it. My thoughts on this are what I feel is missing from the world of soaps. You don’t need death, disaster, and destruction to tell a good story. Sometimes, the best stories come from the heart.
