Sam’s gutted when Lydia turns down his offer of spending the day together and he’s left unsure of how to handle things. As Lydia is insistent on cleaning the house, Sam’s feeling lost and helpless, scared to touch his traumatised wife. Lydia’s immediately on edge when a police officer arrives to update her. Sam’s angry and Lydia struggles to hide her disappointment when the officer tells them Craig has been released pending further investigation.

Later, Sam, who’s a shadow of himself, sits alone. When Rhona passes, Sam’s desperate to unburden and invites her home. At home, despondent Lydia looks through the crisis leaflets. Nervous Sam arrives with a concerned Rhona. Supportive Rhona sits with her as tentative Lydia unburdens. Tormented Sam listens in, furious that Craig may go unpunished.

Paddy’s taken aback by Aaron’s vitriol, when he talks about Paddy’s suicide attempt. Paddy’s hurt, but refuses to give up on Aaron and his words seemingly hit the mark with him. Later, arriving at the Woolpack, Aaron’s seething to see the family toasting Faith, having not been invited. He takes money from the till and leaves abruptly.
