Stevie takes on more responsibility and tries to keep a busy ED under control, but is tested to breaking point by a lack of beds, a growing queue of ambulances and mounting tensions between staff and the family of patients. Jodie and Max reach a turning point in their relationship, and Faith, who is out of rehab and has been sober for 42 days, ends up back in the ED after helping a diabetic woman who has collapsed in the street.
