In a shocking twist, George stuns Glenda by choosing Eileen over her as his power of attorney on this week’s Coronation Street. Tony Maudsley who has played George Shuttleworth for the last 4 years reveals the fallout that follows!
“Why wouldn’t you? I mean, the choice between Glenda and Eileen when it comes to legal business, you’re not going to choose Glenda!” Tony reveals. “It’s quite a responsibility to take that role on. And I don’t think Glenda even realizes what it is, but she just decides to be offended and swans off. Unfortunately, this opens up a can of worms!”
But that’s not the only bombshell awaiting fans this week. Todd, ever the troublemaker, digs up a secret will that could change everything. “He wants to see exactly what George is leaving him and he goes snooping around George’s things in the Shuttleworth office,” our source dishes. “Then this will appears.”

The mysterious will, hidden away, leaves Glenda entitled to 50% of everything, leaving George torn between protecting his sister and safeguarding his father’s legacy. “He’s half protecting his little sister, who he loves dearly. He’s half protecting his dad’s legacy,” he reveals. “He’s in this quandary of not wanting to short-change his sister but also not wanting to hand her half a business that she’s going to sink into the ground in five seconds.”
Coronation Street airs these scenes from Monday April 22nd on ITV1
