Emmerdale viewers are in for a heart-wrenching rollercoaster as little Evan falls seriously ill. Dawn is left horrified after spotting a new bruise on her son’s leg and a trip to the surgery turns into a desperate fight for Evan’s life.

Doctors raise the alarm after examining Evan, recommending urgent tests and a bone marrow biopsy. As fear consumes Dawn and Billy, the unthinkable is revealed – Evan is incredibly sick. Blood tests show dangerously low levels, and a horrifying list of possibilities emerges – infection, autoimmune disease or even Leukaemia.

The news leaves Dawn and Billy reeling. Restricted from feeding Evan and struggling to soothe him, Dawn watches helplessly as their world implodes. Billy returns home choked with emotion, revealing the terrifying possibilities.

Actress Olivia Bromley, speaking with Inside Soap Magazine, revealed a shocking turn of events, “The news comes as a curveball. They go back into hospital and it turns out Evan has leukaemia. Out of nowhere, everything changes. They just have to deal with it.” Left to watch helplessly, Kim and Will witness Dawn crumble under the weight of her sorrow.

Meanwhile, Will and Kim are caught in the middle of Ruby and Moira’s feud, their journey to the hospital hampered by a roadblock. As they finally arrive, Evan is prepared for the biopsy, leaving a distraught Dawn needing comfort from Will.

The next day brings the confirmation of their worst fears – the biopsy results reveal Evan has Leukaemia. Kim and Will watch in despair as Dawn crumbles outside the room.

Actor Jay Kontzle, who plays Billy, Evan’s father, echoed the immense impact this crisis will have, “Everything changes. It affects their personal lives, their relationships, their job. When you’re going through something like this, your life stops…”
