Vic is eager to spend quality time with both of his kids, but when he comes on strong with unsolicited life advice for both Nicolette and Byron, they react badly. Stymied, Vic asks a suspicious Jane for her advice on how to reconnect with their children. Still questioning his motives, Jane pulls no punches, telling Vic the only answer is to put in the time. Returning to the Share House, he busts Sadie looking at his computer. It was an innocent mistake on her part, but she’s read something truly alarming which Vic begs her to keep secret. Sadie declares that Vic’s family deserves to know, but he insists that it’s his decision to make. Sadie reluctantly covers with Byron, and we’re left to wonder exactly what it is that Vic is so desperate to hide.

Mackenzie is determined to save Harold’s from Paul’s plan to re-lease the space. Inspired by some business wisdom from Vic, she re-opens the café, calling in favours from all the neighbours to help get it up and running. Wendy’s hospitality savvy soon has customers returning in droves. Despite her success, Mackenzie remains troubled. Worried for her friend, Holly pushes Mackenzie to open up about the guilt that’s eating at her. Emotional, Mackenzie is finally ready to unburden herself…

Karl cajoles Aaron into joining him on a bike ride. While Aaron ultimately agrees, it was just what he needed, Karl is put out when he thinks a group of younger riders is mocking him. When he confronts them, he only manages to embarrass himself, accidentally spreading the legend of Dr. Pooper. Trying to make amends and build up his own cycling pack, Karl suggests they all join forces, only to be shot down. The leader explains that they’re an under 40s group, and Karl is left to stew in what feels like fresh humiliation.
