Nick Tilsley is suspicious that Leanne Battersby is being BRAINWASHED by a dodgy self-improvement INSTITUTE after she started splashing out on expensive online workshops and vitamin supplements.
The Bistro boss is also worried that Leanne is having an AFFAIR with the institute’s handsome therapist Rowan after he got a bad vibe from him.
“Rowan’s a good looking guy and I think actually Nick is just a bit jealous,” actor Ben Price revealed.
“It starts to occur to him that maybe she’s having an affair.”
Leanne’s sister Toyah is also suspicious of the institute and is determined to dig into its murky past.
“Toyah’s much more convinced that Leanne is being dragged into something bad,” Ben said.
Things come to a head when Leanne announces she’s JETTING OFF on a retreat with the institute, leaving Nick to pick up the pieces with troubled Simon Barlow.
“He’s gutted,” Ben admitted.
“I think that’s the moment where he twigs that this is the way it could end up being. She’ll withdraw more and more and then she’ll end up saying she’s found another life.”
With Leanne gone, could this be the end for Nick and Leanne’s relationship?
“Yeah, I think so,” Ben said.
Coronation Street continues tomorrow at 8pm on ITV1 as Gemma is left puzzled by Bernie’s behaviour and Bethany comes face to face again with Nathan.
