Coronation Street is set for explosive drama as Bernie Winter’s long-lost son is finally revealed – and he’s closer than she thinks!
Viewers have watched Bernie (Jane Hazelgrove) desperately searching for the child she gave up for adoption nearly 30 years ago. But tonight’s episode took an unexpected turn!
A downbeat Bernie thought she’d found her son after tracking down a man named Christopher Green, but he cruelly denied any connection. However, in a shocking twist, we later saw Christopher holding a jade elephant – the same toy Bernie told Dev she bought for her baby!
The drama escalates on Wednesday as a drunken Bernie bumps into Kit on the street, only to be arrested for disorderly conduct! It seems Kit is using his position to dig into Bernie’s past while keeping his true identity a secret.
But will Kit want to reconnect with the mother who abandoned him? And how will he react when he discovers she has two older children?
“It’s like one big family,” gushes new Corrie cobbles recruit Jacob Roberts, fresh off his stint in Hollyoaks.
Speaking about his role, Jacob said: “There’s a lot of hurt there for Kit, and he has deep resentment towards Bernie. It’s going to be a fascinating story to explore!”
“He doesn’t actually recognise Bernie at first,” teases the actor, hinting at a rocky start. “He initially thinks she’s trying to rob his house!”
“He’s got a great job and life now so he doesn’t want to disrupt that,” he explains, suggesting Bernie might face an uphill battle.
But there’s more to Kit than meets the eye. “He’s working as a detective,” Jacob confirms, adding another layer of intrigue. “He is going to be a very misunderstood character at first,” he warns.
With “deep rooted resentment” towards Bernie and a detective’s keen eye, is Kit set to uncover the truth about Lauren Bolton’s disappearance?
