Leo is alarmed to discover that Abigail has eaten some pills from a bag she found on the ground. It’s worry all around as Remi explains that without being able to identify the pills, they’ll have to pump Abigail’s stomach. A guilt-ridden Krista pipes up and identifies the contents as opioids from Shannon. After being administered a reversing agent, Abigail is back to full health, but Leo remains out for blood. Confronting Shannon, Leo informs her that he’s passed on the bag with her fingerprints to the police and vows to personally finish her if she comes near his family or friends again. Although Krista is glad to hear that Shannon will be staying away, her self-loathing and guilt flares over bringing danger to Abigail. However, Leo asserts that Krista supported him and his daughter when they needed her, and it made him realize that the two of them just fit. As Leo assures that he wants Krista, they move in for a kiss, happily witnessed by Paul.
Karl anticipates big farewell fanfare for his last day at Erinsborough Hospital, but is left disappointed by the absence of anything at all. His hopes rise when Remi asks him to join a confab in a treatment room, only for an elated Remi to announce her successful promoVon. Although Karl agrees to meet up with Remi for a drink, he’s left disappointed that she’s been the only one to acknowledge his final day. Unaware his colleagues and Susan are setting up a surprise party at The Waterhole, a dejected Karl shows up at Aaron’s doorstep admitting he doesn’t feel like meeting up with Remi after the day he’s had. Unaware of the surprise party waiting, Aaron agrees to go on a bike ride with Karl.
Terese is excited to learn that wealthy widow Shirley Burchmore and her friends have agreed to tour Eirini Rising. This clashes with Toadie’s relationship-rebuilding date with Terese but, knowing Terese is desperate to sell the remaining units, he graciously cancels their plans. Terese, aware that Eirini’s health focus is a major selling point for Shirley, can’t get Karl, and consequently insists that Susan comes along in lieu. As the site visit gets underway, a reluctant Susan pastes on a smile and does what she can to sell to Shirley, but Terese is left unimpressed by Susan’s straight-laced approach. Saving the day, Toadie offers Shirley and her posse free legal services through Rebecchi Law if they sign on the dotted line post haste. Later, Toadie enters Terese’s bedroom to let her know they need to get going for Karl’s party. As Terese thanks Toadie for getting Shirley across the line and gives him a grateful hug, Toadie misreads the moment and moves in for a kiss. Terese is startled and steps away.
