S4C to air exclusive live coverage of Wales’ summer rugby tests, with Summer Series clashes against South Africa and Australia plus a crucial women’s WXV play-off against Spain all on the menu.
S4C commentator Gareth Charles is looking forward to the summer action, particularly after a tough Six Nations for the men’s team:
“It will be a strange experience playing at Twickenham in a home game for South Africa,” Charles said, “knowing that so many Springboks supporters live in London, and it will be a major test against the world champions.”
Wales Women will also be in action, with their crunch WXV play-off against Spain live on S4C. Presenter Lauren Jenkins believes this is a golden opportunity for the team:
“There will be plenty of excitement from the Wallabies’ point of view now that one of the game’s best minds Joe Schmidt is at the helm,” Jenkins said. “But what an opportunity for some of the young Welsh players to establish themselves as part of the team’s new age.”
S4C’s summer rugby coverage kicks off on June 22nd and will be available to watch on S4C, S4C Clic and BBC iPlayer.
