Lucy Fallon on Bethany’s Return and the Haunting of Nathan

“Bethany’s gone through a traumatic time, and seeing Nathan is a huge shock,” says Fallon. “It brings back all the trauma she’s worked so hard to overcome. It’s a stressful situation that triggers her PTSD.”

Fallon reveals Bethany is convinced of Nathan’s guilt in the disappearance of Lauren. “She’s adamant he’s involved,” she says. “Nathan being out of prison when Lauren goes missing makes her see red.”

Despite her fear, Bethany won’t back down. “She’s determined to see him back behind bars,” Fallon explains. “She confronts him, which is a bold move. I like this side of Bethany – she’s taking her power back.”

Fallon emphasizes the importance of portraying Bethany’s journey as a survivor. “This is something that will stay with her forever. It’s crucial to show that and continue this story throughout her time on Coronation Street.”

Tina O’Brien on Sarah’s Fierce Love and the Unbreakable Platt Bond

“Sarah’s devastated,” says O’Brien. “She thought Nathan being in prison meant they could move on. Now, it’s breaking her heart to see Bethany suffer again.”

O’Brien reveals Sarah’s protectiveness knows no bounds. “She’d do anything for Bethany,” she says. “She’s already broken the law trying to pay Nathan off, and she’ll go further. She’s not thinking straight, but she’s a mother putting her daughter first.”

With romance in the air on the cobbles, O’Brien ponders Sarah’s future with men. “She thought Damon was the one,” she admits. “Now, she questions if she even knows what love is. Has she lost the one, or was there never one to begin with?”

O’Brien reflects on Gary’s lingering presence in Sarah’s life. “They have a unique connection,” she says. “They tell each other things they wouldn’t tell anyone else. There’s definitely a bond, especially with Nathan back.”

Looking back on her quarter-century on Coronation Street, O’Brien cherishes her time as a Platt. “It’s an honour,” she beams. “We have a lot of respect and laughter on set. I feel incredibly lucky to be a Platt.”

O’Brien highlights the strong female friendships she’s formed on the show. “There’s nothing but support among the women,” she shares. “We’re all very lucky to get on so well and have each other’s backs.”
