Jane is certain Vic stole her engagement ring, pointing out his history of deceit throughout their marriage as proof. Despite being shamed by his past misdeeds, Vic insists he’s innocent. Byron and Nicolette work to defuse the situation, each reasoning with a parent. A flustered Jane admits she may have simply lost her ring, ultimately opening up to Vic about her secret fears regarding Mike’s long absence. Vic urges Jane to ask for the reassurance she needs from Mike, and she braces for a difficult conversation.
Aaron makes a formal offer on Number Thirty-Two, and Leo happily accepts it, desperate for the cash injection for his floundering business. While Jane and Nicolette are both a lifle bit thrown by Aaron’s decision, he is steadfast. Meanwhile, Leo receives another offer for the house. He admits to Aaron that the new offer is for more money, but insists he has no regrets about their deal. While Aaron is troubled, Leo remains commifed to their handshake agreement.
Aier watching Liv harass Leo for an interview, Holly begins to suspect there’s more to the relentless podcaster’s fixation on the poisonings. Impersonating Mackenzie, Holly talks her way into reviewing CCTV footage from the day of the second poisoning and is shocked to discover Liv’s foodie influencer best friend was there. Further investigation has Holly convinced that Liv and her friend have conspired to commit the poisonings to help Liv’s podcast go viral. Confronting Liv with her findings, Holly is forced to defend herself when things get a little dicey, spraying her in the face with dry shampoo. But Holly’s moment of triumph is short-lived, as Mackenzie arrives to reveal that her theory is a bust. Holly’s horrified to realise she’s just assaulted an innocent woman.
