Swain’s daughter, Betsy, is set to stir things up on the cobbles, actress Vicky Myers reveals. “She’s feisty, opinionated, very much like Swain,” Myers tells Eastieoaks.com. But beneath the bravado lies a teenager grappling with the loss of her mother.
“She feels worldly-wise, but at 16, she’s not,” Myers explains. “Losing her mum has had a huge impact.” The actress hints at a potential connection between Swain and Carla. “Swala [Carla and Swain’s ship name] is interesting,” she admits. “There are similarities between them, but for now, a friend in Carla would be nice for Swain.”
However, the revelation about Joel could throw a wrench into things. “Swain, the embodiment of female empowerment, will be hit hard,” Myers teases. “He’s been right under her nose, involved in the Lauren storyline and with Dee Dee. It will be interesting to see the lioness in Swain take over if she finds out what’s happening.”
Is there a hidden darkness to Swain? “Absolutely,” Myers confirms. “There’s an edge to her, and with Betsy involved, we might see that side come out. It would be very interesting to play.”
