It’s chaos in the wake of Stevie’s shooting as the terrified film crew flee the beach. Alf calls emergency services and Nelson joins his team taking refuge in the Surf Club, while a flagging Stevie lies in Cash’s arms. As the ambulance siren sounds out, he tries to keep her talking, but she loses consciousness. Bree and Levi are on hand at the hospital when she’s wheeled in by paramedics, and Cash is horrified to look down and see his friend’s blood on his shirt. When Remi arrives, he storms the operating room to be with Stevie and begs Bree to promise him she’ll be okay. She complies, but as Levi points out, it’s a promise she might not be able to keep…

At home with the doors locked and the blinds pulled closed, Felicity makes a call to Tane – make sure you’re nowhere near the club, she begs her ex. There’s been a shooting. As he processes this, he looks around to see Stevie’s stalker, Sidney, who clocks him and takes off. Despite the danger, Tane gives chase, and Felicity is terrified as the phone disconnects. He catches up to the shooter, but Sidney is able to get in a hit and leaves Tane flat on his back. Unable to get through to him, Felicity can’t help but act and is flooded with relief when she finds him lying on the sand, alive…

Alf is managing tempers – and egos! – at the surf club as the film crew reckon with what’s just occurred. He manages to keep Nelson and Troy, Stevie’s co-star, from coming to blows but he’s gobsmacked when Troy reports that the shooter is nowhere to be seen and they should all be allowed to leave. Alf is quick to give the cocky actor a stern dressing down – they’re waiting for clearance from the police, not some journo. They’re not going anywhere.

Bree is desperately performing compressions on Stevie as Levi gently warns her – their patient is gone. If she hadn’t made a promise to Remi, would she still be doing this? But Bree is adamant – she’s not going out there to tell Remi that she failed. As he grows more impatient for news outside, she finally calls time of death and steels herself to deliver the heartbreaking news. She didn’t make it, she tells her ex. They did everything they could.

Finally, Cash returns home for a change of clothes and receives an unwelcome greeting – You took your time getting home, Sidney purrs, as he levels his rifle straight at him. Is Cash about to meet the same fate as Stevie?
