Leanne Battersby finds herself in a tricky situation this week on Coronation Street as she urges Amy Barlow to drop her lawsuit against The Institute. But with Amy’s determination and Leanne’s loyalty to Rowan under strain, will Amy agree to back down?

After offering Amy her job back at the Bistro, Leanne tries to convince her to abandon the lawsuit. However, her pleas might be falling on deaf ears. In a gripping twist, Amy receives a chilling voice message from an unknown number, sending her into a panic and prompting her to dash out of the salon.

Meanwhile, Leanne’s own world begins to unravel when she meets Rowan at The Institute and sneaks a peek at his laptop. What she finds is nothing short of shocking—a file named ‘Leanne’ and another ominously labeled ‘Nick & Toyah’. What exactly has Leanne stumbled upon?

Later, Leanne summons Nick to the Bistro, clearly shaken by what she’s discovered. But what does she know, and how will it impact their already strained relationship?

Jane Danson, who plays Leanne, offers some insight into her character’s conflicting emotions. “Leanne’s still got this self-belief that The Institute is good for her, it’s making her happy,” she explains. “But the malware session, which she found quite difficult, made her feel worse for Amy. Watching Amy crumble was hard—she’s a vulnerable kid, and Leanne feels an added layer of responsibility because of their family connection.”

Leanne’s guilt over introducing Amy to The Institute is starting to weigh heavily. “She knows, deep down, that something’s off,” Jane adds. “Her relationship with Nick is strained, Rowan isn’t as nice as he used to be, and Amy is questioning everything. Leanne is clinging to the positives, but she’s starting to see through the cracks.”

As Leanne digs deeper into Rowan’s files, the full extent of his manipulation begins to surface. “The penny just drops,” Jane says. “Leanne thinks, ‘Oh my God, Toyah was right.’ She feels awful for how she’s treated her sister, but then she opens the file, and everything changes.”

With Rowan’s true intentions coming to light, Leanne faces a tough decision. “She’s one click away from uncovering everything, but Rowan is on his way back. One wrong move, and it could all come crashing down,” Jane teases.

Leanne’s journey through this emotional minefield is far from over. “She’s such a strong, feisty character, but this experience has shaken her to the core,” says Jane. “There’s definitely trouble ahead—this isn’t something you just walk away from unscathed.”

As Leanne grapples with the reality of her situation, viewers are left wondering: will she take down Rowan, or will he get to her first?
