Ruby Allen Returns to Walford

Louisa Lytton is reprising her role as Ruby Allen later this year for a prolonged stint. Last seen in November 2021, Ruby left the Square after a whirlwind of lies and deceit, which saw Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) falsely imprisoned. Ruby’s departure left a trail of unanswered questions, particularly regarding her supposed pregnancy with Martin Fowler’s (James Bye) child. Her return promises to stir up old tensions and create new ones as she crosses paths with Martin and Stacey once again.

Lytton expressed her excitement, saying, “I am thrilled to have been asked back to the Square to revisit Ruby once more. There is never a dull moment with Ruby, and I cannot wait for everyone to see what she has in store.”

Bianca Jackson and David Wicks Set for Explosive Reunion

Fans can also look forward to the return of Walford legend Bianca Jackson, played by Patsy Palmer. However, Bianca isn’t the only Jackson heading back—her father, David Wicks, played by Michael French, is also making a brief comeback. Their relationship has always been fraught with complications, and it seems this time will be no different.

Bianca last left Walford after publicly exposing her sister Sonia’s (Natalie Cassidy) boyfriend, Reiss Colwell, for stealing from his comatose wife. Now, with David Wicks back in town, viewers can expect even more tension as the pair navigate their rocky past and present conflicts.

Michael French shared his enthusiasm for returning to the Square, saying, “David Wicks never fails to create a lot of drama in a very short time.” Executive Producer Chris Clenshaw added, “David’s character was never shy of drama, and this return will be no different.”

Chrissie Watts Resurfaces After Nearly Two Decades

In another surprise move, Tracy-Ann Oberman is set to reprise her role as Chrissie Watts. Last seen in 2005, Chrissie was jailed for the murder of her husband, the infamous Den Watts (Leslie Grantham). Her time in Walford was brief but unforgettable, filled with betrayal, deceit, and murder.

Although details surrounding her return are being kept under wraps, Oberman hinted at the drama to come, saying, “Chrissie Watts was such a great character to play—a victim or a villain. I’m thrilled to be back and can’t wait for viewers to see what has happened in the last 19 years.”

With so many iconic characters returning, EastEnders is poised to deliver unmissable drama leading up to its milestone 40th anniversary. As always, when these legendary figures are around, chaos is never far behind.
