Next week, EastEnders fans are in for a treat as David Wicks (Michael French) makes his dramatic return to Albert Square, shaking up life for both Cindy Beale and his daughter, Bianca Jackson.

Cindy’s Shock as Past Comes Back to Haunt Her

Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) is left reeling when she comes face-to-face with David for the first time in 27 years. “Cindy is completely thrown when she sees David – she’s really, really shocked,” says Michelle. “It knocks her off kilter because this is totally out of the blue, and she hasn’t seen him since 1996!”

And it’s clear that Cindy’s memories of David are far from rosy. “Her abiding memories are not good! He dumped her at Waterloo station and left her high and dry. She hated him for what he did,” Michelle reveals. But with David back in town, Cindy’s long-buried feelings are sure to resurface, with the actress teasing, “David was one of the few people Cindy truly loved, and he really hurt her.”

As Cindy grapples with seeing David again, her partner George offers some tough love, pushing her to confront her past. “George tells her not to be ridiculous and to face her demons,” Michelle explains. “He reminds her that she’s strong and deserves an explanation from David.”

When Cindy and David finally lock eyes, the tension is palpable. “They both kind of look at each other and go, ‘OMG!’” says Collins. “It’s been 27 years, and David is the last person Cindy expected to see. But there’s a hint of a smile when the shock wears off.”

With David’s return bound to stir up old emotions, Cindy’s future with Ian is uncertain. “Cindy wants security with Ian, but she also loves danger, and that’s exactly what David brings,” Michelle hints. Could David’s arrival reignite a spark that Cindy thought was long gone?

Bianca and David – A Father-Daughter Reunion Full of Drama

David’s return also brings new life to his fractured relationship with Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer). “I was so happy to hear Michael French was coming back. We bring out the best in each other,” says Patsy.

This time, their dynamic has shifted. “It’s a whole new era for David and Bianca,” Patsy reveals. “They’re closer in age now and can relate to each other better. I’d love to see David swoop in and sort Bianca’s life out – she deserves some luck.”

Fans can expect a rollercoaster of emotions from the duo. “One minute we’re doing comedy, the next we’re crying our eyes out. There’s so much history there, it’s golden,” Patsy adds.

As Bianca navigates life in Walford, David’s return is bound to have a big impact. Could this be the fresh start she desperately needs? Only time will tell.
