Nish Panesar has been scheming for weeks to get closer to Suki, but his motives run deeper than just reconciliation. As actor Navin Chowdhry explains, Nish’s obsession with control has reached new heights.
“He’s a man that can’t take no for an answer,” says Navin. “This is just another tactic to either win Suki back or, in his deluded mind, cause as much disruption for her and Eve as possible. We’ve seen him tell Suki ‘this will never stop,’ and despite his health issues, he’s determined to stay in their lives.”
From Suki’s perspective, there’s little left of their relationship, but Navin reveals that Nish sees things differently. “In truth, they’re just allowing him to spend his final days with the family. But Nish clings to anything, and Suki’s engagement to Eve is just too much for him to handle. His fragile ego can’t stand it, so he’s plotting again.”
Next week, Nish begins to grow suspicious of The Six. “He stumbles upon a few nuggets of information and starts probing. At first, he wasn’t suspicious, but seeing how anxious Kathy and Suki are, he decides to investigate. He was focused on his family and winning back Suki, but now this has piqued his interest.”
Nish is also re-interviewed by the police about last Christmas. “It’s initially just an inconvenience for him, but certain things don’t sit right, and it makes him reconsider what really happened. He’s determined to get to the bottom of it.”
When Nish finally learns the truth, his reaction is explosive. “It’s a mix of disbelief and horror,” Navin says. “There’s anger that the people who nearly killed him are walking free, but the manipulative part of Nish sees this as the best card he’s ever been dealt. He’s totally going to use this information to his advantage.”
With the secret in his hands, Nish knows he now holds all the power. “He has the ability to send The Six to jail. It’s the perfect bargaining chip, and he’s going to use it to get exactly what he wants. He doesn’t want to die alone; he wants to be surrounded by his family, and of course, Suki. It’s a chance for him to be close to her again.”
And with Halloween just around the corner, Nish is far from finished. “He’s got one massive trick up his sleeve that no one could see coming. Nobody can imagine what he’s planning for Halloween night,” Navin warns.
