Jack urges Nancy to stay strong as she grapples with Darren’s sudden disappearance, keeping the truth from Frankie to spare her worry. Instead of revealing that Darren is missing, Nancy has told Frankie that her dad is staying with family, though the pressure of hiding the truth is weighing heavily on her.
Robbie is increasingly paranoid, convinced that Darren’s disappearance is somehow linked to his own dark secret. Fearing the worst, Robbie wonders if Darren’s vanishing act is connected to his involvement in Dave’s death, especially as Darren’s abandoned car turns out to be one of Robbie’s stolen motors.
Returning to work at school, Nancy confides in John Paul, admitting that she fears Darren may never come back. Later, at the police station, her worst fears are confirmed: Darren’s blood has been found in the car. The evidence shakes Nancy, leaving her to wonder if there’s any hope left at all.
