After a whirlwind of spoilers being released to fans at midnight last night, a-million-and-one questions have been opened up like a tin of worms; and this is where the inevitable theories emerge from.

Why doesn’t Carla correct Debbie at her spa day with Lisa at the Chariot Square Hotel?

Who is Lisa at the Bistro with and how will Carla react to her girlfriends jealous streak?
One viewer in particular has very strong views on Leanne Battersby, in fact, she even referred to herself as a ‘Leanne defender’.
@lisascrisps said “The phrase “hell hath no fury like a woman (Battersby) scorned”. She’s lost her son, then been taken advantage of by Rowan, she’s still feeling the pain and shame of that whole situation, and to find out her sister and her (ex) husband are sneaking around behind her back, add in the loss of her dad too, it’s a lot for one person to go through. it seems she’s taking all the pain she’s feeling, and focusing it all on Nick and Toyah. She feels betrayed at every turn, by the two people she trusts. It’s like she’s got nothing left to lose and that’s a very slippery slops. She’s going through so much and I think she might even surprise herself (and her new unlikely confidante Tracy Barlow) with how far she’s prepared to go. I hope she gets some happiness soon because she’s been through enough!”
It feels some what refreshing seeing someone backing Leanne’s corner, but will Leanne’s actions prove to much for even her most die-hard fans to stick by her side?
There have been so many questions asked relating to these newest spoilers, and yet there seems to be one couple predominantly on the majority of viewers lips. Carla & Lisa
Fans have been coming up with all sorts of theories on X (formerly Twitter) about what they think will happen between the cobbles newest couple, ‘Swarla’ and we have collated a few of them right here.
@topcac : “Monday. Spa. Lisa’s upset with Carla but doesn’t say anything and lets it stew. Wednesday. Jealous Lisa who’s had enough so challenges Carla about everything confuses Carla immensely because she loves her girl. Friday. They chat it out over wine and end up in bed.”
@kirby_lara14080 : “I reckon on 16th Lisa will be miffed at Carla not correcting Debbie, but won’t say anything and then the doubts will manifest into Wednesdays ep, and then they’ll sort it all out on Friday.”
@samanthac261 : “I think Monday will be the spa day where Debbie says it’s good to see two friends having fun together, Lisa will be cross but she won’t let it show… I think she’ll just stew and catastrophize it in her own head which will lead to the jealousy when she hears about Carla’s business meeting. She’ll be jealous but again, try and hide it. I think that she might even keep that to herself too and it’ll come out on Friday how she feels like Carla is ashamed of her. I actually think people might find out officially the following week. Actually it would be good to have a scene between Lisa and Ryan where she tells him she’s worries that Carla is ashamed of her and he reassures her that Carla is crazy about her❤️”
Whilst most theories are short and sweet, one determined fan has more than a few words to say about the budding romance. Kyle split his theory into the 3 episode for the week commencing 16th December, and it is clear he has had a good think about this one.
@kyleelliott29 : “Thoughts on the Monday. Monday: I think we’ll see Carla bump into Lisa, off duty, and after a bit of small talk and realising Lisa isn’t working, she asks her out somewhere. But doesn’t let on where to. A fun little surprise for her girl. We might possibly see them walking into the hotel and Lisa might make a comment about Carla getting them two a room. But then we see them getting ready for the spa. And we have a little chat about how Lisa doesn’t get to relax much she thanks Carla. Debbie comes over, makes a comment about them being friends, Carla has a cold face as she’s too scared to correct her. But Lisa doesn’t see this, and just notices that Carla doesn’t correct her. Lisa then has an upset look on her face as she then thinks Carla is embarrased to be with her publicly, or scared to let people know. They then go back to Carla’s and Carla mentions how fun it was. Lisa agrees but we can tell she’s still hurt. She doesn’t leet on to Carla how she’s feeling but Carla notices a little that something is wrong. She doesn’t mention anything either.”
“Thoughts on the Wednesday. Wednesday: Lisa will come into the factory to talk to Carla about them going public / why she didn’t correct Debbie. Carla isn’t at the factory. Sarah tells her she’s in a meeting, and happens to mention how handsome the client is. Lisa has a jealous expression on her face that sends us all to hell and back. She then “sneaks” into the bistro, Carla might have left to the toilet and that’s why she doesn’t notice Lisa there. Lisa sits down and watches as the client openly flirts with Carla. Carla might end up flirting back as a strategy for sealing the deal with the client – unaware her girlfriend.. YES GIRLFRIEND, is right there. The client agrees to the deal and leaves, Lisa comes over. Carla gets super happy to see her and maybe asks for Lisa to join her. Lisa says she can’t as she’s on duty but that she wanted to speak to Carla. Carla then tells Lisa to come round to hers tonight then. Lisa suggests they could go out for a drink instead. Carla says she’s not really in the mood and has a little embarassed look. DS Swain notices and makes that smirk of hers. She says fine, and agrees to meet Carla later at the flat. Towards the end of the episode, we see Lisa arrive at Carla’s. Carla is happy to see her again and asks if she wants a drink, Lisa says no as she has to get home to see Betsy, but a mug of tea would be nice. Carla asks what it was she wanted to talk about. Lisa brings up how Carla didn’t correct Debbie on them being “friends”. Carla looks confused and asks what should she have said. Lisa then, in a really cute way, tells Carla that they’re girlfriends. Carla has a little giggle, smiles and says “okay”. Carla then mentions how she doesn’t really want people to know they’re together. Lisa assumes its due to Carla’s sexuality but Carla says its because her relationships have always been the talk of the street for years and she wants to enjoy this new one. She mentions how she feels different for lisa than anyone else before. Lisa smiles and TILTS HER HEAD.. she then walks up to Carla, brushes her hair over her ear, kisses her. While still holding eachother and looking into their eyes, Lisa tells Carla that it’s okay and they can take things slowly if Carla wants to.”
“Thoughts on the Friday. Friday: Lisa, on another day off, bumps into Carla on the street. Carla is frustrated as Kirk has blown a fuse while trying to switch on the Christmas lights. Lisa asks what Carla is going to do. Carla snaps at her and says that she has to close the factory for the rest of the day until someone comes round to fix it. She mentions that she’s going back to the flat to do some work in peace. Lisa goes a bit quiet as if she was going to invite herself round, until Carla mentioned the “work in peace”. Carla stops and tuns to Lisa, asking if she’d want to come over and keep her company. Lisa smiles and says of course. They walk very close together. As if they want to lock arms but don’t. After getting into the flat, Carla has a lot of built up emotions and starts to pour a glass of wine. She asks if Lisa wants one, she agrees OBVIOUSLY. They sit on the sofa together, Lisa listens to Carla complain about the factory being closed after they landed this new client. Lisa puts her hand on Carla’s hand, to try and help calm her down. Carla locks eyes with Lisa, still built up with frustration, she stands her and Lisa up, takes the glass of wine off Lisa and places it on the table. Carla then takes Lisa’s hand and takes her into the bedroom. Meanwhile.. the factory lot are in the rovers… blahhh blahhh blahhh… they got kicked out… blahhh blahhh blahhh… they end up going to Carla’s. Bobby opens the dor and as the 3 of them get inside, they see Lisa come out of Carla’s bedroom with a dressing gown on. Lisa asks what they’re doing there. Fiz, with a smirk on her face, says “what were you doing there?”. Lisa has a guilty face. CUT TO ADVERTS. HELLO TREVOR. BACK TO THE COBBLES. Lisa says how she and Carla had been drinking and she had spilt wine down her top, so she was wearing the gown while Carla was looking for a spare shirt for Lisa.. or something, I’m not too sure on this bit to be honest. Either way, Fiz doesn’t buy it. And Kirk is just confused.. bless. Those 3 leave. Lisa lets out a sigh. Carla comes giggling out the bedroom, smiling. Awhhh. Lisa gives Carla a look. Carla is still smiling and giggling. Carla says “you coming back?”. Carla then tells Lisa that maybe they should go public. Lisa says she’s not so sure now, and says she thought Carla wasn’t ready. Carla says she’ll be fine if she can be with Lisa. Lisa smiles and agrees to go public. They end up going to the rovers. And the same factory lot are there again somehow after being kicked out.. for the plot. Anyway, Fiz makes a joke about Carla and Lisa. But Carla just breaks the ice and lets them all know that her and Lisa are a couple. Lisa is a bit shocked as she wasn’t sure if Carla would go through with it or not. The two of them get that booth of theirs and they enjoy the rest of the night, holding hands and smiling, looking into each others eyes. Carla mentions she’s glad they’ve gone public and thanks Lisa for letting her take her time. they smile at each other again.”
Well, I think it’s safe to say Kyle has a very vivid theory of what he thinks will happen in the upcoming episodes.
