Mel grates on Alex as she continues to insert herself into his life. Alex is dubious when Sean insists that Kira’s visit is short. Carol pressures Sean to make a CV shortlist for the assistant manager job. Steo is deflated when Sean rejects his request to be considered for the job. Steo dumps Sean’s stack of potential applicants in the bin. Sean suspects Steo has interfered when Carol is not impressed by his choice of CV’s. Sean discovers that Kira is back in town for good and encourages her to move in with Orla.
Fidelma’s curiosity is piqued when she overhears Tyler offering life and business advice to Hughie and James. James is embarrassed when Maxine mentions him signing on. Maxine offers to write James a letter proving he has been looking for work. Maxine is disgusted by James’ snobbish attitude to people on social welfare. James is furious when Maxine’s letter states that he has turned down work on the site.
Fidelma’s interest grows when Dean informs her that Tyler and James both share a short temper. Tyler and James’ friendship grows but a comment about Laura Halpin startles James.
Renee is uncertain why Farrah has entrusted Hughie with Phelans over her. Renee is put out when Paul insists Farrah has made the right choice. Renee and Nora press Hughie for news from Farrah. Renee is optimistic when Hughie thinks that Farrah might lean towards refurbing Phelans.
