Krista learns some uncomfortable truths about Leo and Nicolette. Leo desperately tries to explain his actions, but the couple are forced to table their conflict due to the one-year anniversary of David’s death. They take part in the family tribute by volunteering to serve meals with the Erinsborough Food Bank, but Krista struggles to be around Leo and Nicolette. When Sebastian and Leo cross paths, Leo assures he knows the game Sebastian is playing, but Sebastian seems satisfied he’s winning this war and Krista will soon see Leo isn’t worth it. The next day, Krista is determined to overcome her bumpy patch with Leo, but Sebastian insists Leo is toxic and she’s too good for him. Caught up in the moment, Sebastian surprises Krista with a passionate kiss.
When Paul fails to appear to help serve meals with the Erinsborough Food Bank, Terese discovers him home alone, unable to forgive himself for David’s death. Terese encourages him to share the day with his family so he doesn’t have any regrets, and despite the gathering getting off to a shaky start, everyone finally pulls together to remember David in a loving, meaningful way.
Holly continues to help Max at the garage, and much to her surprise, discovers she’s quite enjoying it. Seeing her tenacious work effort allows Max to view her in a new light. But when a couple of tough looking guys pull up in a car with Queensland number plates, Max freaks out and immediately shuts up shop for the day. When Holly pushes Max to explain his actions, he finally reveals he’s laying low from a dangerous situation back in Brisbane. Holly is horrified, but agrees to keep Max’s secret, further strengthening their bond.
