Though Terese is impressed by Roxy’s productivity at Eirini, Roxy knows she still needs to show she’s a better operations manager than Susan. Helping this situation along, Roxy sabotages a toilet paper order Susan arranged before leaving, as well as sabotaging an entertainment Susan organised, swapping out a magician for a “puppetry of the penis” type act. While Vera is much titillated, Terese is shocked and worried how this could have happened. Afterwards, Roxy implies Terese might not know Susan as well as she thinks, just as the pair clock endless boxes of toilet paper on Eirini’s doorstep. Roxy swiftly deals with the mishap, impressing Terese again, who justifies Karl’s accident must have thrown Susan off her game. Roxy “reluctantly” points out that these tasks were organised prior to the accident, ensuring that Terese is given another reason to doubt Susan.
Jane is devastated over the discovery of Clint’s admission, despite her loved ones’ kindness and support. It’s not the news she needed going into her meeting with Department who already consider the fact of her seeing Clint inappropriate. During the meeting, she struggles to explain herself, but luckily Byron’s old lawyer skills shine through as he draws on previous case law and department policy to defend Jane and argue that her mistakes do not at all reach the level necessary for a dismissal. Jane is let off with a warning and Jane and Byron are relieved. Afterwards, Lana pulls Byron aside, impressed, and requests to have another chat sometime. Celebrations for the outcome are in full swing, but when Aaron pulls Jane aside, it’s clear she’s still heartbroken. Clint was supposed to be her fresh start.
Having given up her secret search for Chelsea, Cara tries to make up for her lies to Remi by lavishing her with gifts and quality time. None the wiser, Remi is touched. Nicolette checks that Cara’s still determined to call off the search and Cara assures she’s going to put it to bed without Remi ever finding out. Nicolette goes home, revealing that despite her assurances to Cara that she wouldn’t see Maddy again, she is in fact still hooking up with Cara’s cousin. Later, Cara and Remi unexpectedly stop by, forcing Nicolette to hide Maddy. Though Nicolette claims to be home alone resting, Cara spots two used wine glasses. Later, Cara barges into Nicolette’s home, catching her and Maddy red-handed. Cara is badly disappointed that Nicolette broke her promise not to see Maddy when Cara asked her expressly not to complicate the situation any further. Nicolette apologises to Cara, but it’s clear she’s broken Cara’s trust. Nicolette doubles down on her apology, confessing how much Cara’s friendship means to her, and that she ‘really likes her’. The perfect time for Remi to arrive home and catch the tail end of the conversation, misinterpreting Nicolette’s confession. She’s not happy!
