Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) has never been one to shy away from drama, but even she is taken aback by the storm that’s about to hit her life. Having taken her revenge on Cassie, Tracy is left questioning whether she truly wanted to see her back on the streets.
Reflecting on her motivations, Kate Ford explains: “In that moment of anger, she wanted Cassie to face some sort of karmic punishment. It felt like she got away with what she did to Ken, and that’s something Tracy just can’t let slide.” But as Ken continues to show compassion towards Cassie, Tracy fears the woman she despises will find redemption. “All she can think about is that Ken is going to forgive Cassie, and it’s making her so angry and upset.”
But Cassie is the least of Tracy’s worries when her past comes hurtling back into her present—Rob Donovan is on the loose, and she’s about to come face to face with him.
“She can’t believe it,” Ford admits. “But she still has a soft spot for him, so she lets him in without much persuasion.” However, Tracy is clear that this reunion is temporary. “She says one night, then you have to leave.”
Yet, as Rob begins to push for more, Tracy’s resolve is tested. “At first, she’s okay with helping him for one night, but then he starts wanting to stay longer, and that really stresses her out.” Despite her insistence that her feelings for Rob are in the past, a small level of doubt creeps in as things take a darker turn. “She doesn’t think he’d ever hurt her, but there’s always that little bit of fear.”
As the stakes rise, Rob’s desperation reaches new heights—suggesting that Tracy flee with him and start a new life. “She just thinks it’s crazy! He’s got a gaping hole in his side and an infection—he needs a hospital, not a romantic getaway.” But with Rob determined to make his escape, Tracy is faced with a critical choice.
And where does Steve fit into all this? Kate is clear: “She’s happy with Steve just being Amy’s dad and keeping him in the friend zone.”
Meanwhile, Kate has loved stepping back into this chaotic chapter of Tracy’s life with actor Marc Baylis returning as Rob. “It’s been great. He looks exactly the same, like he hasn’t aged at all! We just went straight back into it, like he hadn’t gone. It’s been really nice.”
