Terese has a letter from Jefferey informing her that he is the real father of baby Thomas – he altered the DNA test results knowing he’d be able to blackmail Chelsea who would do anything to make sure Paul believed he was the baby daddy. Paul is reeling and devastated – this means he’s losing Thomas, the ‘son’ he’s grown to love so much – but there’s also an element of relief that Jeffrey has not revealed Paul was already in on the secret and has been playing along with the subterfuge. Terese demands more DNA tests at a more secure lab, but Chelsea knows it would delaying the inevitable and tells her it’s not necessary – they will only show that Jeffrey is the father. With the revelation confirmed, Paul’s family rally around him. He is initially too shocked to express his grief, it’s only when he later holds Thomas for possibly the last time that he crumbles in devastation. Chelsea is overwhelmed by what the revelations mean for her – Cara now hates her again, she’s broken Paul’s heart and she gets a brutal character assassination from Krista, who has only been holding back her fury while she thought they were part of the same family. Full of self- hatred, Chelsea abandons Thomas – convinced he’ll have a better life without a monster like her in it – leaving him at the Penthouse.

Taye takes on a new escorting job for the evening, eager to rebuild his bank balance. But when he finds he can’t get out of his shift at the Piano Bar, he’s left trying to sneak away to see his client (who is staying at Lassiters) without Krista or his colleagues finding out. Unfortunately, the stress of the situation – time pressure, the fear of discovery – throw him off his game and ultimately he is unable to perform. Mortified he makes his escape, unaware that Krista has seen him flee the room. Max manages to cover for his buddy by spinning a tale that Taye had a stomach bug and needed to use the shower… leaving Taye mortified on a new level but also aware that he escaped disaster by the skin of his teeth. And he didn’t make his money.
