Yes, it’s that time again; Coronation Street is airing another prison escape – seriously, someone needs to take a look at the security. A brand new trailer just released shows Mick Michaelis (Joe Layton) on the run and on a desperate mission to reunite with his kids.
Scenes airing next Monday (14 July), reveal that after getting news that his family are falling apart Mick orchestrates a prison break and plans to do a runner with Brody, Joanie and Shanice.
The man behind the killer, actor Joe Layton revealed: ‘He isn’t after revenge; this is about him wanting to get his family together and start a new life with them.’
With the desperate killer having little to lose, he poses a danger to anyone who gets in his way. His first port of call is Weatherfield High but when he realises that his daughter Joanie has been taken home from school by Sally (Sally Dynevor) he heads for the cobbles.
‘The anger that we saw when he killed Craig has been replaced by desperation and love for his family, but that doesn’t make him any less dangerous. Kit (Jacob Roberts) is potentially putting his life on the line once more in his attempts to stop Mick.’
As Sally offers Joanie a tour of Underworld, while the factory girls are at the pub, she has no idea that Mick has arrived on the street, closely followed by Kit.
What has Mick got planned and will Kit be able to stop him?
