After sharing her conflicted feelings with Terese, Nell tells JJ that she needs some space from him. A confused JJ has a heart-to-heart with Taye, who apologises for overstepping when he spoke to Nell, although JJ doesn’t believe that was what caused her freak-out. Nell apologises to her boyfriend, still unsure of what came over her. But she does know she misses her dad and Hugo and wants to go see them in Colac for a few days to clear her head. JJ understands, offering that he’ll be right here when she gets back, and he’s thankful that their relationship is on steady ground once more.
An exhausted Remi laments about her issues with Cara to Karl and Susan, who both conspire to help. They spring a mediation session on the wives, who are skeptical but open. Together, they come to an agreement for the sake of their sons – Remi will be less dismissive of Cara’s feelings and be more open to friendship, and Cara will respect Remi’s boundaries and put her plans to win Remi back on hold. For the first time in what feels like forever, Cara and Remi successfully manage to present themselves as a united front, apologising to JJ, Dex and Taye for neglecting their recent struggles while they were wrapped up in their own. The Varga-Murphys have made a small step in the right direction.
Nicolette is ready to take charge on her first day back at Yorokobi. Leo’s impressed by Nic’s work ethic, and Nic’s excited for this next chapter in her life. She confesses to Leo that she wants to have another baby in the next few years, and Leo is supportive, saying that it’s something he’s sure David would have wanted
too.
Jane returns home, sad to have left Byron, but grateful for the time with her extended family. To make amends with Abby and Isla, Jane debuts her new character, Fairy Grandma’. Aaron drops the L-bomb to Rhett, who says nothing back. A spiraling Aaron seeks advice from Jane and Nicolette, who tell him to be more open about his feelings. Attempting to clear the air over L-word-gate, Aaron realises that Rhett simply didn’t hear him. Jane hints to Rhett that Aaron may have said a certain 4-letter word, causing Rhett to declare his love for Aaron via a wholesome game of charades. But a bombshell is soon dropped – Tilly and her mum are moving to Adelaide, and they want Rhett to go with them.
