Emmerdale air these scenes on ITV1 from Monday 1 September.
John and Aaron return to the village for lunch with Chas. Chas is saddened to hear that Aaron’s definitely moving away. Whilst Aaron tries to downplay his concerns regarding John’s behaviour, Chas senses something is off. John panics to hear that Charity’s considering calling the police over Mack’s disappearance. John quickly makes up an excuse to Aaron so that he can rush off leaving Aaron bemused by his strange behaviour.
Later, Vic discusses Charity’s worries about Mack with a suspicious Robert. When Vic reveals that Aaron and John are moving into John’s childhood home, Robert storms out. He interrupts Aaron packing up and tries to convince him he’s making a mistake. Aaron wavers when Robert moves closer and claims that their connection is still very much alive. As the tension builds, Robert kisses Aaron but Aaron struggles with his feelings.
Both are back at the cottage. Later, jealous John plans to drug Aaron, determined to make his husband dependent on him by any means necessary. As he prepares the spiked whisky, John’s pleased when he’s able to manipulate Aaron into swigging it. With Aaron uncharacteristically affected by a single glass of whisky, John’s ready to look after him.
However, when John heads out to fetch firewood for a cosy night in, Aaron decides to pour himself another glass from the drugged whisky, unaware of the danger….
