With his list of crimes coming to light, it was clear his days in the village were numbered, but he wasn’t going to go quietly. For Emmerdale’s John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth), it’s the end of the road as he plans his escape from the country.
Emmerdale is remaining tight-lipped on if John will succeed in his plans to flee or will one – or more – of the many people and families he has wronged finally see justice done?

As Emmerdale kicks off another week, the police swarm the village while John hides out in Keepers Cottage. However, when Robert and Victoria return, John is waiting with a syringe, ready for Robert. He’s left conflicted after overhearing Robert and Victoria debate whether John ever truly cared about her.
But John has more tricks up his sleeve than Paul Daniels, turning up at the depot to use Anthony’s death as leverage to blackmail Caleb.
Can John really be trusted to stay silent about Anthony’s death if Caleb helps him? And if he does, will Aaron, Caleb or anyone ever be able to forgive him? So many questions.
Later, Caleb is startled when Ruby catches him. As she demands to know where he’s going, will he confess the truth about his dilemma?
And then there’s the pressing mystery: where is Anthony buried? Will any questions be answered, or is there still one final, cruel twist in this tale?
