Coming up on Hollyoaks in scenes airing from Monday, 29 September, on E4, bleary-eyed John Paul wakes up in a panic after an altercation with Jez last night triggered a memory revealing what really happened the night Bobby Costello was murdered…

With the pieces falling into place, John Paul rushes to the Blakes to warn Liberty she’s in danger, but with mumbled words and alcohol on his breath, a sceptical Liberty doesn’t believe him and urges him to get help.

Meanwhile, after discovering Jez’s two hostages Sienna and Ste on the Love Boat, rather than saving their lives, sinister Clare Devine decides to use this to her advantage and blackmail Jez, believing he has her late husband’s missing cash.

There are complicated emotions for Dodger and Cleo as they start to suspect that Sienna may not be the serial killer. They put their feelings aside to figure out the truth they visit Joel together. The pair learn that Joel has no recollection of killing Tommy.

After finding out about John Paul and Liberty’s conversation this morning, Jez wants answers…

At The Hutch, John Paul is brushed off by a furious Diane who is rushing to get ready for Tony’s plea hearing. Jez confronts John Paul, who is doubting his own memories, but vows to get sober and uncover the truth. Not wanting his ex-fiancé to be his ruin, Jez takes his moment to silence him for good…

Later, Tony is a bag of nerves as he faces the stand. Right before heading in, Diane tells Liberty and Jez that the McQueens won’t be there due to John Paul’s fate. Liberty is chilled to the bone, knowing what she told Jez right before the attack…

The plea hearing begins, and not being able to sit quietly, Liberty calls Dodger about her fears…
