In this dramatic series opener, Shieldinch sees a new tiny arrival; the end of a relationship; and the guilt of Gillians’ past haunting her.

Amber’s worst nightmare comes true when Angus surprises her with a baby shower. Desperate to get back home, Amber fakes contractions to get out of the party, but later finds herself in labour for real all alone. When Angus finally returns from the shower, he must step up and deliver the lovely new arrival himself.

Meanwhile, Gillian is haunted by memories of the night Jonathon attacked her and pushes DCI Douglas away. Racked with guilt, Gillian struggles to continue with life as normal until Roisin steps in.

Elsewhere in Shieldinch, Kelly-Marie discovers Chris is not only living with Scarlett but also working at the Tall Ship. Chris insists he’s serious about winning his family back, and while Kelly-Marie claims she isn’t convinced, she’s secretly enjoying the attention.

Wednesday, October 15th, 2025 on BBC Scotland at 10:00pm

Tonight in Shieldinch, upon his return from rehab, Drew’s greeted by a hugely excited Caitlin. Determined to stand on his own two feet, Drew attempts to rebuild his life. However, he must face Caitlin’s increasing anxiety and protectiveness.

As Gillian begins to overcome her guilt, she is left unsettled after Mikey reveals his plans to revive his true crime podcast and asks for her to get involved.

Meanwhile, Lenny and Lydia meet the lovely new baby Teddy as Amber and Angus contend with the struggles of newborn parenting. Initially a chaotic visit with Teddy screaming at the top of his lungs, Lenny discovers he seems to have a knack for calming the newborn.

Back in Shieldinch for a new series of River City

Elsewhere, Viv is rattled when she bumps into Harry and Emma upon their return from their holiday. Determined to drive a wedge between them, Viv tries to conjure up a plan.
