Monday 15 December on ITV1, a single-strand episode focusing on Todd and Theo’s increasingly disturbing relationship will air.

We see the police descend on the street after a report of a domestic incident. The entire episode will be shown through the point of view of cameras such as Todd’s hidden camera, CCTV and police bodycams as a series of flashbacks show what happened inside the flat.

In the aftermath, (Wednesday 17), Todd sweeps up the breakages in the flat as he tries to piece together the events of last night. When Bernie reveals that she saw the state of the flat and there was definitely more to it than they’re letting on, George is unnerved.

Todd Grimshaw actor Gareth Pierce discussed the episode and his thoughts behind the production, ‘Excited and a tiny bit trepidatious. We were discovering how to play to that style of filming ‘on the job’, so it felt like an exciting collaborative adventure for all departments.’

The first few days were like we were filming something that felt like Corrie, but in a format that was new to us all. It has the style of an episode of ’24 Hours in Police Custody.’

‘I think I anticipated it might feel like we were watching Corrie characters through a haze, a slight step further back from the action, but it actually has the opposite effect where it feels like it brings us closer, like we’re eavesdropping on our characters and seeing something we shouldn’t. I haven’t seen the full episode yet, but the bits I have seen are very effective and disorientating.’
