In Emmerdale, Robron are about to face a festive season far more dangerous than they realise.
Emmerdale’s Christmas looks set to bring more danger for Aaron and Robert, even though the pair believe their recent turmoil is behind them. Danny Miller says they ‘genuinely think it’s over therefore everybody can live happily ever after. But, of course, it’s soap, and it doesn’t work like that.’
With life feeling steady again, Robert hopes to reconnect with Seb, something Aaron fully supports. Danny says Aaron would ‘love to look after and cherish this kid and bring it up as their own.’ But their plans quickly hit a snag when Ross finds out and blocks the idea.
Mysterious threats soon begin, and while the couple assume Ross is responsible, they’re far from the truth. Danny reveals Robert discovers more than he lets on: ‘He feels as though he can deal with this situation without adding stress to Aaron’s life.’
The danger comes to a head on Christmas Day, leaving Aaron worried when Robert suddenly heads off alone. And as for Robron’s future, Danny remains hopeful: ‘I think they’ll be okay, but you never know. There’s always something around the corner to challenge them.’
The Christmas storyline is one Danny is proud to be part of, calling it ‘an honour’ and promising viewers plenty of gasp-worthy moments. ‘I am hoping people are as shocked by it as we were when we read it,’ he teases. ‘There are a lot of moments where you go, oh my God, come on, please, please! Please wake up.’
