Emmerdale airs at 8pm on ITV1
During his police interview, Bear confesses to DS Walsh that he killed Ray. Walsh gently questions a confused Bear, who struggles to recall details about Ray’s death but insists that he was alone and that it was an accident. Marlon rushes into the station to comfort Paddy, who blames himself for the situation. Back in the interview room, DS Walsh pressures Bear about his slip of the tongue, but he insists that he acted alone. An agitated Bear insists he was the only one involved in Ray’s death. When Walsh changes the subject to Moira, she’s intrigued to hear that Cain pressured Bear to tell the Police that he never saw Moira at Celia’s farm.
Now back home, Paddy’s inconsolable and breaks down, fearing that he, Bear and Dylan will end up in prison. Marlon urges him to hold onto the hope that Bear’s actions will be recognised as self-defence and he will be released.
Arthur’s too distracted by his phone to serve customers and earns a telling off from Gabby. After an explosive row, Arthur quits his job, leaving Laurel guilty about all the upheaval in her son’s life. Laurel catches Arthur searching for his passport and declares that he’s moving to Australia. Questioning how he’ll find the money, she intercepts an envelope and discovers a shocking amount of cash. Laurel is furious when Arthur confesses the money was in Ray’s bag along with the drugs she previously disposed of. In a heated exchange, Arthur threatens to tell people that she hit him, causing Laurel to break down in tears at the deterioration of their relationship.
Liam informs Cain that Bear has confessed to killing Ray, giving Cain hope that this news could help prove Moira’s innocence. Whilst visiting Moira, just as he’s about to tell Moira about his diagnosis, an unexpected scuffle between prisoners interrupts them. Thrown off, Cain decides against sharing his bad news and instead tells Moira about Bear’s confession, desperately hoping it will lead to her freedom. Moira can see he’s clutching at straws but agrees that it’s more hope than they had before.
