EastEnders is to feature a storyline on Vaping as Will Mitchell (Freddie Phillips) is pressured into it by Avani (Aaliyah James).
However, it isn’t long before Honey (Emma Barton) catches Will and demands to know exactly who sold him the vape. Will confesses it was Avani, but when Honey marches over to The Vic for a showdown, unrepentant Avani won’t back down. Ravi (Aaron Thiara) arrives and profusely apologises, but Priya (Sophie Khan Levy) makes the situation ten times worse.
As Ravi confronts Avani about selling vapes, but she won’t back down, especially when he criticises Priya’s parenting skills.
A 2023 survey conducted by the tobacco control charity Action on Smoking and Health (ASH) found that 3.7% of young people aged 11 to 18 in Great Britain vape regularly.
