This brand new UKTV Original series follows the team at Montgomery Vets. They treat the cute and the cuddly, but also the very unusual and exotic – from iguanas to hedgehogs, snakes to seagulls and everything in between.
For the first time, the surgery has been rigged with cameras and the staff wear body mounted cameras, to give a unique view into this extraordinary world as they save lives, make difficult decisions and treat the animals that others won’t.
The series kicks off Episode 1 when there’s an emergency at the surgery when Ted the bearded dragon is brought in after straining to lay eggs. She’s pushed so hard that she’s suffered a nasty prolapse and her owners are devastated that their pet is in such a bad way.
Huxley the lurcher is completely terrified of going to the vets, so when he has to come in for an operation his owners know it’s going to be an ordeal for him and them. He’s proves to be a real challenge for the team as they work out the best way to get him through the treatment.
And there’s an unpleasant job to be done when Susie the chicken comes in with a blocked oesophagus. There’s a build- up of food that’s stuck inside her and it needs to be removed, but it’s a smelly task.
